Andrew E. Madden is a California-licensed attorney whose practice centers on maritime, shipping, cargo, and related commercial matters, backed by more than 40 years of hands-on maritime industry experience.

Prior to entering legal practice, Mr. Madden served at sea as a licensed Chief Engineer (unlimited tonnage), rising through the ranks over 15 years of deep-sea service to Staff Chief Engineer with Cunard Line. He subsequently spent 13 years with Lloyd's Register as a Senior Surveyor and Maritime Auditor, acting on behalf of classification and flag administrations across a broad range of commercial vessel types worldwide.

Mr. Madden is also the founder of A.M. Marine Surveys LLC , based in Long Beach, where he has provided technical marine surveying and consulting services on behalf of vessel interests, P&I Clubs, H&M underwriters, and shipping companies. His work has encompassed marine casualties, hull and machinery matters, cargo and container damage claims, port-related investigations, and complex technical maritime disputes.

In addition, Mr. Madden is recognized as Gard's Hull & Machinery Correspondent for Long Beach and Los Angeles , reflecting his standing as a trusted technical resource within the international marine insurance community.
